\n\u2022 ACCI Recognized as Official Partners of the FCT Health Insurance Scheme<\/em><\/p>\n

The Health\/Medical Trade Group of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) recently paid a courtesy visit to the FCT Mandate Secretary for Health to explore avenues for enhancing healthcare delivery within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<\/p>\n

Leading the ACCI delegation, the chairman of the trade group, Dr. Kolawole Owoka, introduced the group as one of several trade groups within the chamber focused on advocating for pro-business policies across key economic sectors. He highlighted the chamber\u2019s various initiatives and urged the FCT health department to collaborate with the Health\/Medical Trade Group to curb medical tourism, attract healthcare investments, and enhance the welfare of medical practitioners.<\/p>\n

Dr. Owoka proposed a partnership between the department and the trade group to co-host the Health Business Investment Summit, aimed at positioning Abuja as a premier investment hub for healthcare. He also presented the Mandate Secretary with an ACCI souvenir and formally invited the department to participate in the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair 2025, including a medical outreach to raise awareness during the fair. Additionally, he encouraged the department to register with ACCI to leverage business community collaborations.<\/p>\n

In her response, the Mandate Secretary for Health, Dr. Adedolapo Fasewe, expressed gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of increasing awareness of the FCT Health Insurance Scheme, which offers numerous benefits to residents. She officially recognized ACCI as an official partner of the health insurance scheme in the FCT.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fasewe highlighted the administration\u2019s significant strides in the health sector and welcomed the collaboration with ACCI as the start of a new and strategic partnership. She invited the ACCI team to the commissioning of the renovated hospital in Maitama as part of ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure.<\/p>\n

On potential areas for collaboration, she stressed the need for a direct supply chain between manufacturers and registered pharmacies to eliminate intermediaries and reduce drug costs. She also endorsed the Health Business Investment Summit partnership.<\/p>\n

The Permanent Secretary of the FCT Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr. Baba-Gana Adam, commended the collaboration between the government and the private sector, reaffirming the administration\u2019s commitment to working with ACCI.<\/p>\n

The meeting had in attendance representatives from Bolfort Pharmacy, Skylark Pharmacy, Kinetic Health Consult, and senior directors from the Department of Health.<\/p>\n
